Oro Valley, AZ

The Town of Oro Valley’s own FAQ says it plainly: it does not provide or contract for trash pickup. That one sentence explains most of what is different about clearing a house here.

Marana, AZ

Marana is the one town in the metro with a working landfill inside its limits. That does not make it free to use, and it does not make the hazardous-waste rules any different.

Since September 1, 2025, every Sahuarita household with four or fewer units has been on the same trash contract, and that contract includes a bulk pickup every quarter. Most of what a hauler does here is the part that program does not cover.

Vail, AZ

Vail has a school district and a post office and no town government, which means the rules for getting rid of things are Pima County’s, and the county’s rule is short.

Catalina Foothills, AZ

The Foothills have Tucson addresses and no Tucson services. Property owners here buy a trash contract from a private hauler, and the free city pickup stops at the city line.

Green Valley, AZ

Green Valley is unincorporated, governed through its homeowner associations, and mostly retired. Most cleanouts here are a downsizing or an estate, and the first truck to call is the thrift store’s.
